Author and Illustrator

I've been a writer and painter since I was a small child. At the age of 4, I told everyone I wanted to grow up to be a starving artist. What a dream! I can check that off my list now.

These days I am taking art courses and painting regularly. I'm currently completely a picture book illustration course, and exploring the cozy, comforting themes that inspire me from all of my favorite art.

Recent Projects

My favorite mediums lately include watercolor, gouache, and pixel art. I completed a course on drawing and painting in Photoshop, as well as a few tutorials on Procreate. I found that I enjoyed it more than I ever expected. These days I find my medium of choice changing based on what sort of feeling I want my piece to convey, and how much time and energy I have to dedicate to it.

Painting at the Mogollon Rim

For years I found plein air painting intimidating and I never gave the idea of trying it a second thought. I realized last year that it's a great tool for learning, and honestly, it's simply fun.
